Medium Porcelain Nest
This porcelain nest has undergone many layers of transition. It started life as a woven textile nest and was then covered in multiple layers of porcelain slip over a period of a couple of weeks. It was then fired to give it strength and then glazed with several interesting glazes leaving some parts of the external nest unglazed. It retains some of the texture of the textile nest but is pure porcelain now that the fabric has burnt away in the kiln. The nest is a usable bowl albeit more suited to holding jewellery rather than potatoes!!! It has had hours spent of time in the making and would make a special gift.
