Giant wild rotting mushroom
This giant porcelain mushroom is bigger than my hand span at 17cm diameter. I based this unique mushroom on a rotting mushroom I found on the hills which was of a similar size. The gills were very separated as they rotted. This design is completely different to my other mushroom work as the gills were individually made and attached for this piece. The cap has two glazes that combine to give a wonderful cracked finish. I have coloured the gills with some green as they do discolour as they rot….
