Basket of 9 giant porcini mushrooms
These Giant Porcini / Penny Bun / Cep Mushrooms have been a lovely challenging project. In order to achieve a realistic finish I've been blending underglazes and oxides rather than using a traditional dipped or painted finish. I've also had to play around with textures for their undersides which are unlike a standard gill. They are made using a porcelain stem and underside and a brown clay for the cap. This basket is the last of my porcinis and they are a great centrepiece. I can see them on a large butchers block but you could have them anywhere! I have decided to sell them as one work of art and not to split them.
Basket is 55cm long x 47cm across x 37cm high.
