I am experimenting with a technique of cracking the surface of thrown objects by drying them and stretching them out at the same time. This brown clay bowl has an overlay of porcelain that is thrown on the wheel and stretched out whilst slightly dry. This creates and individual pattern and a rustic effect. The inside of the bowl is glazed in a clear smooth glaze and the outside left in its natural textured unglazed state. This bowl reminds me of cracked earth baked by the sun.
