“I love the weight, feel and look of an old frayed crumpled piece of linen and if it has been darned or stained through use then even better. I am not trying to create perfection but to play with the beauty of imperfection and experiment with how far I can push the clay to give me the effect I am looking for.

I work on instinct and the feeling I get when I look at what the clay has become. If I don’t get that warmth or feeling of excitement, I collapse the clay in my hands and start all over again”. — Amanda Coldridge

Amanda launched her work publicly in May 2024 and, within weeks, was invited to present a two-month solo exhibition with Bamford at Daylesford in autumn 2024. The success of this exhibition led to her work being discovered and acquired by galleries in Paris and Houston, as well as by private collectors internationally.

In 2025, her work was showcased in the spring exhibition Fresh Visions at the prestigious Joanna Bird Gallery in London. Alongside gallery representation, Amanda collaborates with a small number of selected brands on limited-edition commissions and is currently developing a new portfolio of work for 2026.

Studio

“There are test tiles hanging from strings along the walls, and a shelf of little treasures collected from the garden and surrounding fields: birds’ nests, feathers, and a dragonfly that flew into the studio one day from our lake and now sits in a test pot, admired for the formation of its wings.

An abundance of bark, stones, old fabrics, dried moss and organic materials hang in old wicker baskets from hand-forged hooks in the ceiling, adding storage to a tight space.”

Studio Visit

You are most welcome to visit my working studio in the Cotswolds to gain a deeper understanding of my practice. Visits are by appointment only.

“It is always a privilege to watch real artisans at work, so it was wonderful to glimpse inside the studio of Amanda Coldridge to see her working on the ceramics collection for our exhibition at Bamford.

— Carole Bamford (2024)

Commissions & Bespoke Pieces

Amanda welcomes a small number of commissions or bespoke pieces. Collaborating with clients to create textural and ceramic works shaped by shared ideas, natural material exploration, and a sense of purpose.

Recent commissions include:

Valley Objects for The Dillay

“Being both perceptive and practically-minded, Amanda quickly understood the spirit of this place, how we wished to share it, and the different projects’ constraints. She was incredibly professional throughout, communicating and respecting timings and budgets. My trust in her creative response has been wonderfully rewarded. Working with Amanda has been a fascinating journey and a true pleasure. “
