Wild and Watertight Vessel
I have started working more regularly with wild clay from the garden. In this vessel I have mixed four clays together, one of which is a wild clay, and have thrown them on the wheel to create this blended clay vessel. The outside is left unglazed but with some mark making, and I’ve gone to town to stretch and experiment with the originally symmetrical shape to turn it into something quite wild! This particular vessel is watertight as I fired it an extra time with an additional glaze to cover the deliberate cracked glaze. I am pleased with the result. Definitely unique! The wild clay is the deep burgundy coloured clay.
