Timeworn elegant bowl

£700.00

This bowl is fully glazed inside and therefore watertight. It started on the wheel as a thrown bowl and has had multiple layers added to the outside to give an unusual patina and the impression of age. This is in a series of works that I am currently studying around aging in nature. All glazes are mixed from scratch and each piece has its own individual shape. No two pieces are alike and each piece takes several weeks from start to finish to achieve the build up of age. I enjoyed giving this bowl a more delicate feel compared to the heavier vases in this range. The bowl is light and the rim is fine and I’ve used glazes on the inside that reflect light, with the beauty of a natural oyster shell in mind.
