I am currently working on weatherworn coastal vessels that have an aged look to them. I am exploring a more rugged feel with this bowl, using a base of a more rustic clay rather than porcelain. The effect is chunkier, rougher and more like stone on the outside. I have kept the inside of the bowl calmer with softer smoother glazes to contrast but tone with the outside. This bowl fits well into my coastal series with warm tones and rocky, sandy textures contrasted with runny glazes with a more frothy watery feel.
