Rollright Vestige l
This is in a series of works that I am currently studying around aged Cotswold stones. In particular this giant piece was inspired by a trip to the Rollright Stones nearby which is an ancient and spiritual site. This is a usable vessel, the largest in the collection, and large branches would be ideal inside as a dramatic display. I have included photos of the site with this piece to show you the colours and textures that I was aiming to capture. All glazes are mixed from scratch and each piece has its own individual shape. No two pieces are alike and each piece takes several weeks from start to finish to achieve the build up of age. Wild clay from the Cotswold land is incorporated to add authenticity to each piece in this series.
