This platter is an experiment using a hand knitted cloth which has been stretched and covered in porcelain. The texture of the knitting can still be seen and the platter is light and airy. It has opened up in places during the firing process as bread would split as it rises. It is really attractive and food safe. It has been fired twice and is glazed on the top. It does have a delicate feel to it and is lovely as a display item and ideal for serving baguettes. I have priced it as a sample piece.
