This nest has undergone many layers of transition. It started life as a woven fabric and branch nest and was then covered in multiple layers of porcelain slip over a period of a couple of weeks. It was then fired twice to give it strength and textiles were added again to the bare porcelain form. It has had many hours of work spent on it.
