Thrown on the wheel as a cylinder and then pushed and pulled off centre to give each vase its organic and unstructured shape, this style of vase starts with a black clay base and has had multiple glazes applied and overlapped in places so that each piece is completely unique. I love the layering at each stage and the visual feast of the finished piece. The idea is to create a network of mycelium where earth and mycelium mix together in an intricate network.
