This hand built bowl has a porcelain clay base. Multiple clays are embedded and incorporated into this organic design. This style of bowl often cracks in the kiln due to the stresses of the multiple thickly layered glazes and the natural shrinkage of the clay all together. I mend the cracks with the kintsugi method using 18 carat gold powder. This piece has quite a cobweb of kintsugi inside and yet remained very stable on the outside. Each piece is completely unique and has its own personality. I'm happy to do a video of this bowl for anyone who can't view / collect in person.
