This hand built bowl was made with a black clay base and shaped with the cap of a shaggy inkcap mushroom in mind when it starts to decay. Additional clays are incorporated into this organic design and over 6 glazes are used at the final stage to reflect the complexity of Mycelium. By overlapping the glazes they melt and intertwine. Each piece is completely unique and I can promise that I wouldn’t be able to replicate it even if I tried as the glazing process is wild and fluid and instinctual.
