Carved Wild Clay Jug and Cup
I have been digging up wild clay from my garden and processing it into a clay I can throw and mould with. This is labour intensive and such a wonderful process and I’m testing its limits through trying different techniques. These two vessels have been carved out of the clay and fired to a high temperature to expose the rich burgundy tones. Left unglazed on the outside to see the natural colour, the inside has been glazed with a dark glaze to ensure that they are watertight and usable.
Jug 8cm diam x 10cm high
cup 9cm diam x 7.5cm high
