Buck Moon Wild Clay Bowl ll
This wild clay bowl was made under the full moon in July 2026, namely the Buck Moon. I go into my studio when the moon is full each month, to connect with the power of the lunar cycle and try and capture this into my work. The bowls have been used for ceremonies and I believe they have a special quality being made at this time. The clay used for this bowl was from the Cotswold land - wild and wonderful -a deep burgundy colour when fired and I lightly applied simple slips and glazes so that most of the wild clay could still be seen . The inside of this bowl was lined with porcelain and glazed with a white usable glaze so it can be a practical bowl and is dishwasher safe. The Buck Moon is named so as July is when the male deer are growing their new antlers and is associated with growth, renewal, strength and transformation.
