Black Textured Vase No 2
Thrown on the wheel as a cylinder and then pushed and pulled off centre to give each vase its organic and unstructured shape, this style of vase starts with a black clay base and has had many different clays added to it in varying proportions. It has multiple glazes applied and overlapped in places so that each piece is completely unique. I love the layering at each stage and the visual feast of the finished piece. The idea for these vases arose from the glazing results of the shaggy inkcap mushrooms but the textures have been developed further and they have a wintery mountain feel to them as well!
18cm high x 14cm diameter
